Our father, Billy (Bill) David Norwood, passed peacefully at home under the care of his son, Eric, and his daughter, Jennifer (osha), after a prolonged lymphedema illness leading to congestive heart failure, with Hospice involved at the end. 

We are raising funds to cover associated costs and also to expand the reach of our father’s 50 years of dedicated work at the University of Maryland Physics Department, College Park, by filming a selection of the more than 1,000 physics demonstrations he conceived of and/or created, to share on a global, free web platform. 

Our father was determined to demystify physics, making it more comprehensible and accessible; even introducing physics principles to elementary school children with a, “Physics is Phun,” traveling show, sharing demonstrations that were like magic tricks., delighting children. 

And he was focused on getting more high school girls interested in physics through summer programs at the university.
