Help Cleveland Residents Take Collective Ownership of Their Building!

We are a nonprofit cooperative corporation formed for the purposes of converting the historic Plaza Suites building in Cleveland into a large-scale housing cooperative, establishing and preserving truly affordable housing in the city, and fostering egalitarian, anti-authoritarian ways of relating to one another and making decisions collectively.

We are raising $3,000 to undergo a commercial property assessment, the next step in the process of collectively taking ownership of the building.

Our mission goes beyond historic preservation and establishing affordable, collectively owned housing for ourselves and future residents of this building. We see this project as an important part of a bigger process in the city and region, towards collective ownership of our lives and a solidarity economy that operates beyond the confines of capital. First we must continue to acquire the necessary infrastructure, be it housing, solar panels, tools or soil. This project will be a major milestone towards that end.
