About this fundraiser

This is very hard for us, but we don't know what else to do at this time. You see, in late July,  Bud started experiencing weakness, confusion, numbness in his limbs, and a very bad headache.  Things got worse quickly that day and I ended up calling 911 for an ambulance.  The hospital staff immediately started treating for stroke. CT determined that wasn't the issue, so many more tests were performed over the next 2 days that he spent in the hospital.  He was monitored closely because his heart rate was dipping into the mid 30's. All tests revealed nothing wrong with his heart, and no brain bleeds. But they could not determine why this was happening, so we discharged with a bunch of follow ups with his primary. He perked up and was pretty much his old self for a few days, when the same thing happened again. He didnt want an ambulance, so I drove him to the ER. Another CT, still no problems. He was given fluids and advised to keep his appointments with his primary. These appointments were still a week or more out, so we waited. On August 16th I got a call from an ER nurse stating my husband had been rushed in by ambulance. He was undergoing yet another CT when I got there. The nurse informed me he had passed out at work and seized for about 13 minutes. This time he laid totally unresponsive for over 6 hours. We were in touch with neurology via telehealth, where it was determined he was having some sort of seizure activity. He was kept overnight for observation.  More tests and appointments scheduled the next morning. Strict orders upon discharge…do not drive and no work until cleared by neurology.   Another visit to his primary, referral sent to neurology. Fast forward to the appointment for the EEG..the procedure lasted about 45 minutes, and as we were checking out, he had a seizure. At this time there was really no point in going to ER as they would just let him rest and send him home to wait for neurology. After Bud was able, we got in the car to head home, and he had 2 more back to back seizures in the car. Another visit to his primary a few days and 2 more seizures later, a neurologist was consulted and an appointment scheduled, on October 6th. Apparently that's the soonest available, but he has been placed on the cancelation list.  So we wait, and wonder, and worry. He is still unable to drive or work, so our bills are starting to fall behind. On top of all of this, I tore my meniscus back in June, and after a misdiagnosis and unnecessary PT, I got to see an orthopedic surgeon, who determined I need to have arthroscopic surgery to repair the tear as soon as possible.  It's now scheduled for 9/11. I do not have short term disability at work, Buds hasn't been approved yet, and I only have a couple days worth of PTO. I dont know how long I will be off work, but no income is going to hurt us badly.

We are asking for just a little bit of help during this difficult time. This isn't easy for us to do, but we just don't know what else to do. Our heartfelt thanks in advance to each and every one of you.
