Help Keep Parachute House Open

A Peer-Run Mental Health Respite Facing Crisis

Since February 2019, Parachute House Peer Run Respite has been a vital lifeline for individuals experiencing mental health crises.

In our home-like, peer-led environment, guests find safety, dignity, and compassionate support—without the trauma of hospitalization. We’ve proudly served:

2,000+ guests in crisis

50,000+ warmline calls answered

Each one a story of hope, healing, and connection.

But today, we are at risk of closing our doors.

❗ The Crisis We Face

🛑 Despite Governor Evers’ $900G allocation in the 2025-2027 Wisconsin budget, these funds were denied by the Legislative Finance Committee to reduce the overall budget not caring how it will effect individuals in crisis.

Without immediate funding, Parachute House will close permanently in 2026. We are using the organization emergency funds to keep the doors open.

The Impact of Our Closure

Lost Access to Crisis Alternatives

Increased Emergency Room Visits & Hospitalizations

Rising Risk of Suicide, Self harm, and homelessness

Loss of Our Warmline — which answered 6,000 calls in 2025 alone

🙏 How You Can Help

We need to raise $150,000 to stay open through 2026 until the State can fund in 2027. The county is willing to give us 100,000. we serve all of Wisconsin and have the highest population in the State and surrounding 8 counties.  Please help us!

It costs just $273 per day to support one guest’s healing journey.

Your donation directly supports respite care, warmline operations, and our peer support staff:

$273 = One guest’s daily stay

$546 = Two guests for a day

$1,911 = A week of healing for one person
