About this fundraiser

Hello, my name is Morgan Zimmerman, and I'm a senior at Pathways Hybrid Learning in Terre Hill PA.  Each year, our students are asked to craft a PIP project (Pathways Independent Project) to develop, learn skills, and devote concentrated work into throughout the school year.   The projects created by my classmates are always impressive.    This year, for my final PIP of my high school years, I chose a project that will have a long-lasting impact on our school.

A little bit of background:   Being a school that focuses on Christ-based learning through environmental studies and History, one of our focus activities is a long weekend participating in a 1800s style "Rendezvous" event each year that is hosted by Lancaster Long Rifles. My fellow high school students and I spend the weekend dressed in authentic garb, living in the good ole days, experiencing in every way what life would have been like in the 1800s.  We compete in contests with seasoned Rendezvous participants who have been attending for decades.   We gather around the fire by night and cook our meals over the fire no matter the weather.    We also put on an "education ally" for the public in which the students demonstrate what life would have been like through games, cooking, bread baking, songs, and even a pilroy stockade that we made at school!  It is a very fun, really relaxing, and this time provides an educational time for the students and teachers.

Each year, preparation and setup for this event take weeks in planning and work. We have to organize our canvas tents and their poles, as well as all our tables, chairs, cookware, and all we need for the long weekend. To combat this time-consuming process for the years of students who will come after me next year and for years to come, I created my PIP this year to build a travel trailer that will safely store our gear throughout the year and also be an easy way to transport it all, kit and kaboodle, to the Rendezvous site.  I will be converting a 7x11-foot enclosed trailer into a storage & travel trailer for Pathways. It is an expensive and involved project, but one I think will greatly benefit the Pathways students and our community.
That being said and explained, I am seeking funds for the trailer primarily, and the inside construction materials I will be using to construct the inside compartments for each tent, its poles, and the myriad of other supplies we transport.
Any and all donations, larger or smaller,  are appreciated.  I'd surely appreciate spreading the word, and together we can do something great for Pathways Hybrid Learning Community Homeschool!

Greatest Thank You, Morgan.
