About this fundraiser

Hello, I’m Phillip Crabtree, and I find myself at the hospital once more. This marks my second battle with pancreatitis and sepsis in just three months, along with my ongoing chronic health challenges.

My family and I are reaching out for support as we face mounting medical bills and the need for essential supplies to manage my health conditions. Since 2018, I’ve been living with chronic respiratory failure, requiring 4 liters of oxygen daily, and it was during this time that doctors diagnosed me with chronic heart failure (CHF). Due to these health issues, I had to leave my job.

On May 16, I began experiencing severe bowel issues and escalating pain. It became unbearable, and on May 21, I urged my family to call 911. Upon arriving at the hospital, doctors quickly diagnosed me with pancreatitis, high bilirubin levels, jaundice, and sepsis. They initiated treatment, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I couldn’t undergo an MRI. On May 23, I was transferred to another hospital that could better accommodate my needs. This transition led to a 14-day hospital stay, which took a significant toll on my family.

As of today, July 30, I’m healing from gallbladder surgery that took place on August 1. Below is a summary of my medical journey from May 21 to now:- **May 21**: Admitted with severe pain and vomiting. Diagnosed with pancreatitis. *May 22**: Awaiting MRI and further tests to understand liver and pancreas inflammation.  *May 24**: Transfer to Southern Meadows Hospital due to a lack of resources.
- **May 25**: Surgery postponed due to worsening kidney function, leading to a need for dialysis.
- **May 26**: Port placement for dialysis scheduled as kidney function declines. May 28**: Dialysis initiated; waiting for gallbladder surgery.
- **June 1-2**: Continued dialysis treatment, improving mentally day by day **June 7**: Discharged home, requiring a chair for sleeping and 4-7 liters of oxygen daily.  *June 8-11**: Diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease; dietary adjustments made. June 12**: Eating small portions, adhering to strict fluid intake limits.  Aug 1st had my gallbladder removed. Have to go back for 2 more operations TBD later

Through this journey, I’ve learned the importance of resilience and the power of community support. If you are able to assist in any way—whether through donations or connections to necessary supplies—I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can provide. Together, we can overcome these challenges. The funds would be use as follows to pay medical bills, supplies, medications, equipment and if there's anything left that would go to.moving into a bigger place. Any questions please ask.
