My name is Lori Castillo, and I am reaching out to you today with a plea from the depths of a parent's heart. My beloved daughter, who is just 19 years old, has recently been diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma tumor located on her brainstem. This devastating news has turned our lives upside down, and we are now facing challenges that no family should ever have to endure.
The impact of this diagnosis extends beyond my daughter's physical battle; it has profoundly affected our entire family. As a single mother, I have had to make the difficult decision to quit my job to be her full-time caregiver. This means I currently have no income, which has placed an immense financial strain on us.
My daughter has started chemotherapy, a crucial step in her fight against this aggressive cancer. As she undergoes treatment, and as we navigate the myriad of medical appointments and therapies, we anticipate significant expenses. We desperately need financial assistance to cover our basic household bills, ensuring that we maintain a stable home environment for her.
Currently, my daughter is undergoing neurological rehabilitation in Austin, which necessitates frequent and long drives back and forth. The logistics and costs associated with these trips further add to our burden. The emotional toll of this journey is indescribable; it has been the most traumatic nightmare any parent could ever go through.
Despite having already completed 30 rounds of radiation, the tumor has not shrunk. We are now placing all our hope in this new chemotherapy regimen, praying that it will bring the positive results we so desperately need. Ava can not walk and can hardly speak do to her tumor and the weak state she is in. Through it all, we hold steadfast to our faith, knowing that God walks beside us, providing strength and guiding us every day. We believe He has a plan for us and for my daughter.
As a mother, I feel helpless in my inability to take away her pain. However, I can, with your help, ensure that when she is able to come home, she has a home to return to—a safe and stable place where she can continue her recovery without the added stress of financial insecurity.
We cannot begin to express how grateful, appreciative, and blessed we would feel if you would consider donating to our cause. Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a profound difference in our lives and provide much-needed relief during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for your time, your consideration, and your compassion.
Sincerely,
Lori Castillo
