Hello.. my name is Derek Pasley. I'm a 47 years of age from Roshaton, Texas. I havr a type of blood cancer called Polycythemia Vera. In short this disease causes my body to produce too many red blood cells and my iron level is higher than health people with this disease. There are different types of treatments and one is chemotherapy. The other is just a simple blood donation to get rid of my blood and instead of it being a donation my blood is thrown away because it can be used due to my illness. When I get my therapeutic phlebotomies I go to the local blood bank and recently they began to charge a fee of $150 in which isn't covered through medical insurance. I have been paying it up until now, in which it's been a struggle due to not being able to afford it. I usually hate to ask for help but this disease at times strickens me to work and even puts me in a depression. I had fallen behind on my treatments which caused me to have to come twice a month this month and I just need help this one time. I would greatly appreciate any donations made for me and I promise to use it for my treatments. I will post receipts if necessary of payment.
