About this fundraiser

Hi my name is Michele & I received a liver transplant on the 2nd of January and a new kidney on January 3rd. I was released from the hospital this past Tuesday (01-14-25). Upon leaving the hospital I was asked to pay just shy of 500.00 to pay for my anti-rejection meds and other meds like insulin, pain medication, stool softeners, diabetes meds and others. I still have all my staples and although in pain, I am doing my best to push through the pain and walk and exercise to strengthen my muscles and heal faster. I am 100% disabled and although I do get social security disability money, it does not compare to what I made when working. I am not going to be able to support myself and afford my monthly medication. I am beyond grateful to the family who donated their childโ€™s organs to me. I can not even begin to understand their grief and believe me I grieve their loss with them. Very emotional subject for me as I find myself crying for their incredible loss, a beyond words grateful for the organ donation, which has given me a second chance at life. I found out I had Hep C which ruined my liver (probably from a blood transfusion received in my twenties). Tested many times for Hep C (even donated blood many times) and always tested negative for it, until my late 40โ€™s when I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of liver and/or end stage liver failure. I am 58 now, never an alcoholic or drug addict and facing losing my life due to having Hep C which resulted in my diagnosis and my liver which through me into kidney failure. Now Iโ€™m scared of not being able to afford my medication to keep my body from rejecting the transplanted organs I received or keeping a roof over mine and my girls heads. Please help if you can, it will be a great blessing received and appreciated. Love & Blessings to All. God is good! All the time!! Thank you to our Heavenly Father ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™
