About this fundraiser

You may have heard by now that Jacob suffered a near fatal car accident in the early hours of 27th November.

Returning from work in Santa Rosa, California, he swerved to miss a deer and the car fell 60 feet down an embankment, flipping several times.  He was trapped in the car for a few hours before summoning courage to punch through the windscreen and climb the embankment.  No passing car stopped to help him so he walked until he found a private property, where the owners called him an ambulance.

Jacob spent a week in intensive care in Santa Rosa hospital, with eight broken ribs, a punctured lung, a broken jaw and some broken bones in his back.  He has a metal plate fitted to his jaw, and was ventilated when both lungs collapsed.  He has a long road to recovery ahead of him, and will be unable to work for many months.

Unfortunately, the financial harm to Jacob will also be immense, as he has no medical insurance and his job does not provide sick pay.  If you are able to help relieve this particular worry, please do.  Funds will be transferred at the best exchange rate by his family in the UK, who have given their agreement for this page to be set up.

Please also share this page as much as you can with any friends, family and wider networks who may want to help Jacob.
