After recently losing my grandmother, I made the decision to take over her house so her memory could live on through our family. The house means so much to me, but it needs a lot of work—everything from electrical repairs to fresh paint and new carpet. While I’m trying to make it a safe and loving home for my son and me, I’m also stuck paying rent at my apartment because I can’t break my lease without a huge penalty. That means I’m paying double rent right now, and it’s making it almost impossible to keep up with other bills like my car insurance. 
I’ve always tried to handle things on my own, but right now I feel like I’m drowning. The funds from this fundraiser would help me remodel my grandmother’s house and cover urgent expenses, so I can finally move my son to a better neighborhood and give him the home he deserves.
