Dear Friends,
Many of you know Sherryl Lin and Brian Taylor, and the life they have built together—one rooted in love and deep commitment to family. When their granddaughter Lilah came to live with them at 10 months old, they stepped fully into the role of parents once again, later adopting her. Today, Lilah is a thriving four-year-old, deeply loved and supported.
On February 11th, Sherryl Lin was admitted to Albany Medical Center after experiencing vision issues. Just days later—on Lilah’s birthday—she underwent an emergency craniotomy. The diagnosis: high-grade glioblastoma with a prognosis of 3-6 months.
After careful consideration, Sherryl Lin chose not to pursue chemotherapy or radiation, opting instead for comfort-focused care. Sherryl Lin is now supported by Community Hospice here in New York, and the family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care they provide.
What is most important and extraordinary to share is how Sherryl Lin is meeting this moment. She is at peace—approaching this chapter with clarity, grace, and a deep sense of acceptance. She does not experience this as a tragedy, but as a natural and meaningful part of life’s path.
Many of you have already shown extraordinary love and generosity. As this journey continues, there are both immediate and ongoing needs that will help support Sherryl Lin and her family.
In the near term, support will help cover expenses for a close friend—experienced in end-of-life care—who is staying nearby to be present with Sherryl Lin. There is also a need for additional childcare for Lilah, allowing Brian to be supported during this time.
Looking ahead, contributions will help ensure continued support for Brian and Lilah, including childcare, household assistance, and emotional support resources.
Above all, your support helps create the space for Sherryl Lin to live these days with presence, dignity, and the love that has always defined her life.
Thank you for your care, generosity, and presence.
