Steven Rex Mitchell passed away peacefully in his home on March 23, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.  He fought a 5-year long battle with Alzheimer’s but consistently did things his own way and proved time over time that he was still here until the very end.

Education was something that Steve worked very hard for in his own life and pushed strongly for others to obtain.  He believed firmly that education equated to empowerment. Education provides people with the skills and confidence to achieve their potential, pursue their goals and make contributions to their community.  Because of this we have set up a memorial fund to benefit Steve's beloved grandchildren's education.  This is meant to be a meaningful alternative to flowers.
