On November 5th, 2025, I will be undergoing a laparoscopic hysterectomy. This is something I’ve been wanting to get for YEARS, and it’s a huge step forward in reclaiming my health and bodily autonomy.

I live with PCOS, possibly endometriosis (not officially diagnosed but highly suspected), and a complex family history surrounding my reproductive system. Because of this, I have dealt with debilitating, often irregular periods most of my life, and it has caused me extreme amounts of stress and pain. In summer 2020, I started testosterone to not only medically transition but to help with my PCOS symptoms.

 Recently, after five years without periods, they returned suddenly, bringing intense pain, mood swings, and new health concerns. Beyond being gender affirming for me, this surgery is primarily about ending this chronic pain and mental distress, and giving me the chance to live more freely and comfortably in my own skin.

While my insurance is supposed to cover the procedure itself, the biggest challenge will be taking the time off I need to heal. My job is physically demanding, and I’ll be out of work for up to six weeks of recovery. I’m asking for support to cover lost wages and additional expenses during that time. My goal is $5,000, which will help ensure I can focus fully on healing without the added stress of financial strain.

Cost breakdown:

4k-  6 weeks of lost income

1k- recovery supplies, etc

Anything additional will either be sent to my mom since she is flying out and renting a place to help with my recovery. Anything that exceeds that amount will be donated to help fund trans health care for others. (If it gets to that point, I'm happy to take suggestions through organizations to donate to)

With laws shifting around access to gender affirming care, there’s an added urgency to getting this surgery done as scheduled.
