My sister has epilepsy. She keeps it largely maintained with medication, but on Saturday had 4 seizures during our family Thanksgiving get together. My sister is ok and feeling much better now, but this scary event reminded all of us of the importance of recognizing the signs and knowing what to do to support someone who has seizures.
Justice doesn’t know the cause of her epilepsy, and the theories she’s suggested to her doctors haven’t been considered, likely because there just isn’t enough known about these links to really pursue them. She would greatly benefit from seeing a specialist who has looked into these potential links, but would have to travel/take leave from work to do so. Transportation is another struggle, as it’s not always safe for her to drive, and frankly makes her quite nervous.
