This year has been an incredibly difficult journey for Owen and his family. In January, Owen underwent a life-saving liver transplant in Seattle. Since that day, his mom, Stephanie, has been faithfully by his side through surgeries, recovery, and the many follow-up appointments required to help Owen heal and stay healthy.
Stephanie is a devoted single mother who works as a school bus driver and works incredibly hard to provide for Owen. In order to care for Owen during his transplant and recovery, she used all of her available leave from work. Unfortunately, that leave has now run out.
Stephanie will be able to return to work at the end of April, but as a school bus driver her hours are limited once summer arrives. While she can work some, she will not be able to work full time during the summer months. At the same time, Owen must continue traveling back to Seattle for important post-transplant checkups and monitoring. During this critical stage of his recovery, Stephanie needs to be with him every step of the way.
Right now, Stephanie is doing everything she can just to keep things afloat for her family. We are asking for help to support them through the summer months until steady school-year work resumes in the fall. Donations will help replenish basic living expenses like housing, groceries, travel for medical appointments, and everyday needs for Owen.
Stephanie has always been someone who works hard and takes care of her family without asking for help. Now, during this incredibly challenging season, we hope our community can surround them with love and support.
Every prayer, share, and donation means more than words can express. Thank you for helping lift up Owen and his amazing mom during this time.
