About this fundraiser

It is with great sadness that on August 5th, 2023 - we lost a wonderful member of our community - Okechuku Ekwuabu.

A full obituary will be published but we wanted to share a bit with you all since the Ekwuabu’s have been such a big part of the community over the years.

Okechuku was born to parents Roland and Grace in Delta State in Nigeria. He came from Nigeria to the US in the mid 70s and had a very humble beginning. Year after year, Okechuku worked tirelessly for everything that he accomplished, willing to share anything that he had.

His biggest achievement was having a family whose closeness, camaraderie and love was as strong as possible. That was his mission: to have his entire family be better off than he was.

Okechuku was the oldest of 12 siblings and is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Grace Ekwuabu, his four children, Ogochuku, Okechuku, Nmoemeka and Nwakaego as well as his Daughter-in-Law, Cara Ekwuabu and Granddaughter, Linnea.

We invite those of you in the community to join with the Ekwuabu family for the following:

Sept 22 - 4-8pm

The viewing in Burlington, VT at Elmwood-Meunier Funeral & Cremation Center.

Lastly, Heidelise Corriveau and I have come together in creating a fundraiser to help support the Ekwuabu family during this time for funeral services.

We are grateful to each and everyone of you for your support during this time. 🙏 Thank you so much for your donations!
