Taha was born with Epilepsy, resulting in frequent seizures and slow growth among other complications. At 7-year-old, he barely can move, can't chew foods, can't talk and still in diapers.
He had surgery to implant a VNS battery to reduce the frequency of his seizures. Such surgery has to be repeated every five years to change the battery.
He takes three expensive medicines (Keppra, Lamictal & Convulex), and he needs ongoing extensive Physical and Occupational Therapy of three sessions a week.
He is in Lebanon, and because the local currency has collapsed, his parents could not afford anymore his medicines and therapies, and they don't have healthcare insurance to cover the costs.
The total cost of all above is $550 per month ($6,600 per year).
