About this fundraiser

In December I brought Rob into the ER since he had numbness and tingling in his left arm and side of his body. The doctors originally thought it was a stroke. After a bunch of tests and a couple MRIs they determined that he has MS. One doctor said he was lucky he was not paralyzed because of the location of one of the lesions on his spine. He needed steroids to help treat the current flare up. The symptoms have gotten better, but have not gone away. He gets worn out easily doing day to day tasks.

Rob had a spinal tap done on January 9th to determine the specific type of MS, so they can make a plan for future medication. The recommended course of action was to start an infusion of Ocrevus. This medication is given twice a year with the first dose split in half. Rob just got the second half of the first dose today, March 16th. Unfortunately this treatment is really costly and runs around $75,000 for the year. Good news is our insurance will cover some of that cost and we were able to get approved for additional funding for the medication costs from the Ocrevus Foundation. However, even without considering his medication we already have over $5000 in medical expenses. And I'm assuming more bills to come.

I am trying not to be overwhelmed with worry about financing all these expenses, but it has been hard. So that is why I decided to ask for help. Any amount you are willing to give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
