  • Chemo life

    Hi guys,
It’s been a very difficult few weeks for Jeff and I. I am finally over pneumonia, I had it for about 2 weeks. Chemo was postponed once again. We’ve added a treatment for this Thursday. I have missed so much work that I have used up all my paid hrs from Washington State. So when I have to call in I will no longer be paid. I am looking into other options including trying to apply for short term disability. Or a leave of absence from my work(which still isn’t paid) I am mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted. I hate to ask but we need help. If you could please share or donate we would greatly appreciate it. Also thank you to all of those that have already donated. Continue your prayers as my journey isn’t easy trying to fight the most aggressive breast cancer there is. Lots of love, Kathy

About this fundraiser

Kathy is embarking on the hardest battle of her life to date. She has already been through so much, and now, a battle with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer. She will be undergoing chemo treatments once a week for 12 weeks then 1 chemo session a month for 3 cycles, which each cycle is every 21 days. Then after that 1 chemo session a month times 9 cycles each cycle is 21 days at Kaiser Capitol Hill (so a long drive from home). These treatments are the most aggressive possible. She will then undergo a lumpectomy 4-6 weeks after her last round of chemo,(which is around 15 months) unfortunately, she is not a candidate for reconstructive surgery due to other medical issues she has. Then she will have radiation 5 days a week for 3-6 weeks.

Kathy will lose her hair (she would love to purchase a couple of wigs), and her immune system will be suppressed, so working will be difficult at times, as she works at a hospital, surrounded by sick people.

With the long drives for appointments and possible loss of wages, Kathy and Jeff need our help to make this journey just a little less stressful. Any amount you can donate will be a huge help for our warrior. If you can't donate, please take a moment to share this fundraiser!

Thank you so much for being a member of Team Kathy! Don't forget to use our hashtag #TeamKathy!
