As some of you may know in the Spring 2024, Eddie was diagnosed with Leukemia.  He started chemo treatments while going on with life as normal as is possible when life gets turns upside down.  His oncology team continued to follow him closely and discovered his form of cancer was actually a more aggressive, rare form known as CMML (link below if interested). They quickly started the process to find a necessary bone marrow donor & planning for a transplant.

Fast Forward….A match was found and Eddie has started aggressive chemotherapy and the necessary steps to complete his transplant procedure!!!!

We are all grateful and hopeful, but there is a long road ahead.  His body may take up to a year to fully recover and heal from the treatments/procedures.  He’ll have necessary medical supervision for the next few months as he recovers in the hospital, and eventually, at home. 

Eddie’s a very proud and strong individual; not an easy ask for support or assistance.  He is surrounded by his loving family: wife Belinda, son Rafael, an amazing medical team, friends and colleagues for support.  As you might imagine, these last several months have been a whirlwind.  There have been more than enough overwhelming moments for all of them. 

To support Eddie‘s treatment and recovery plan, we’re reaching out to our community. This fundraising campaign will help cover some unexpected, out-of-pocket, medical expenses and donor associated costs, transportation, meals, etc. and hopefully lessen some of their financial stress.
