About this fundraiser

We are looking to get donations for Craig! A little back story, 2004 Craig was Involved in an accident. While out on his dirt bike a tree fell on him. Craig faced many challenges and survived. Due to the accident he does have a TBI and is legally blind. Terri and Bruce, are his main caregivers.

Most recently December 20,2025 Terri and Bruce brought Craig to the ER for the second time in a week knowing something was not right. After demanding a CT scan the doctor agreed. What came after that was a parents worse nightmare. The doctor came in and informed Terri, Bruce and Craig that there was a huge mass on his brain and needed to be sent to the U of M immediately. Helicopter was the preferred choice but Duluth weather hindered that and he was taken by ambulance.
After arriving to the U of M doctors came and talked to the family. They informed them he would need to undergo a brain surgery to remove the mass. At this point it is unknown what the mass is. Craig stayed in the cities until December 24 and was able to come home and spend Christmas with his family.
On December 30, 2025 surgery was scheduled. Craig underwent brain surgery to remove the mass. He was in surgery for 8 hours and 95% of the mass was removed. When the doctors came to talk with the family they were informed it was Giloblastoma Multiforme a rare fast growing brain cancer.  As you imagine this news was heartbreaking. The following days were unanswered questions and the unknown. Craig was discharged on January 2nd and headed home with little to no answers.
On January 15, Craig met with his team of doctors. Unfortunately the outcome is not good. He will have to do chemo and radiation at the U of M 5 days a week for 6 weeks. These treatments can extend his life expectancy 1-2 years or more. They do have drug trials he can join but again the outcome is unknown.

We are asking for funds to help cover hotel, gas, food and anything else associated with his care. Terri and Bruce are both retired. Terri is the main caregiver for both Bruce and Craig. Bruce also has medical problems that hinder his breathing and requires oxygen. A benefit will happen in the future but for now we are worried about making sure Craig can get to his treatments. Plus not worry about lodging and travel.
Everyone who knows Craig knows he only worries about everyone else and doesn’t want to be a burden. He will always make everyone laugh and have his smart little comments. This is no way has changed who Craig is. To him this is just another hurdle and he is ready to fight. Please donate if you are able and if you can’t please share and keep the Restad family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
