Above pictured is Soldier, an estimated 2 ½ year old 5.8lb chocolate Yorkie who was rescued with his sister Millie who is a shihtzu estimated also at 2 ½ years of age. On 4/10, these babies where rescued from a very unhealthy and life threatening situation, and were set to go to new homes where they would be loved and cherished. However, upon pick up it became clear that the task at hand was going to be far more difficult. These babies, were left ungroomed, matted, and left outside to put in nice words. They were severely neglected. During a much needed hair cut, it was discovered that Soldier has a detached front right foot that was left dangling attached to mats on his leg. Soldier was taken to the vet on 4/13 where it was determined that he will need a mid Humerous amputation. Unfortunately, we were not prepared for this and are seeking help to cover the expenses of this surgery and for vet bills. Surgery including: amputation, heart worm testing, vaccines, and after surgery care is ESTIMATED around $1455 before tax. We are also trying to cover the cost of having his sister Millie examined to determine if she has any health concerns. Please help us get these babies back to health and onto the greener side of the fence. Any amount is appreciated. Both animals are seen at Mill Village in Camden,SC. I can provide pictures of the conditions of the dogs, as well as an estimate from the vets office.
