My daughter Allyson is 29 years old. She a complicated medical diagnosis. Some of her most severe symptoms stem from brain injury. Allyson has had a recent TBI and multiple other serious injuries from being hit by a car as a pedestrian on the highway. She currently resides in a nursing home since May of 2022. Traditional medications used to treat her symptoms have not helped. There is a treatment though that offers alot of hope for her to achieve some recovery. The treatment is currently being used for veterans and others that have private insurance as well as Medicare. Allyson does not have any of those, she is insured by Amerigroup Texas, which is a medicaid managed care program. Texas does not provide this treatment through the states medicaid funding. The treatment is called Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy. It's our last hope at the moment for Allyson to achieve a better quality of life. Treatments range from $250 - $400 per one hour treatment and are scheduled as frequently as 1 per day for up to 15 days and then resume treatments depending on the amount of progress made and ability to tolerate treatment. At age 29 right now all She has to look forward to is a life in a nursing home. She surrounded by people who are all much older, many of them are in the last stages of life. There are no nursing homes for young people. The residents are kind and the nursing staff is kind but its still a nursing home where she is seeing people dying, seeing people that she has very little in common with and no hopes of being able to have her own life back. These treatments could change her state of health dramatically. Please help her to receive this care and have hope for her future.
