Hey, it’s Steph! After a long talk with her doctor, I decided to actually ask for some help as our medical bills start piling up and I cannot keep up fast enough, even on the payment schedule with all the different departments, etc.
I’m sure everyone knows that this past fall, Reagan was hit in the head with a field hockey ball. That blessing in disguise led us to find out she has a blood disorder, and I’ve tried to be vocal about what’s going on with her to keep everyone updated. I recently changed jobs (not really by choice), and she will be without insurance for at least a month. COBRA is too expensive and I cannot afford it. We were denied any state help (as of now) since the new insurance starts in April. DuPont and all other medical bills—testing, blood transfusions, iron, medicine, and just the genetic testing—are starting to pile up. I had thought I could handle it, but then with my engine blown in my car and the mechanic not honoring the warranty, working full-time and two part-time jobs is just not cutting it. We are not sure what or why her testing keeps coming back positive for autoimmune issues, but hopefully, the geneticist can help figure that out. I was not going to ask, but now our DuPont bill is already up to about $2000—who knows what the month of March will bring—and I’m looking for some help until our new insurance kicks in at the start of April.
Any help is appreciated, and my kids are already embarrassed that I’m making this, but I really have no other option. We are just looking for help if you can.
