Our family is coming together to support Eric as he begins his fight against B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-cell ALL).

Just last Saturday, everything changed.

Eric was looking forward to going to a wedding to sit back and watch his two girls do their thing and enjoy the day with his family. Instead, he noticed the lymph nodes in his neck becoming swollen, along with feeling unusually tired and achy. Thinking it could be some sort of an infection, or something else that wasn’t too serious, he went to urgent care. After being sent home, he fell back asleep, only to wake up to messages from his dad and stepmom insisting that he go to the ER.

Thankfully, he listened.

When the doctor returned with his bloodwork, the seriousness on his face said more than words could. They told him he needed further testing and that he needed to go directly to University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.

Still hoping it was something simple, Eric never imagined the word “cancer” would be part of the conversation.

Then came the moment that made everything real. He was taken to a prepared room on the third floor, with his name already posted on the wall.

That day, his family’s world changed.

He was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-cell ALL).

There is a long road ahead. His doctors have given him hope and reassurance that there are reasons to be optimistic, but treatment will be intensive and the journey will be long. He will be unable to work while he focuses on fighting this disease.

And if you know Eric, you know he isn’t going into this without a fight. 💪🏼

He’s already made his intentions clear: he plans on spitting on cancer and knocking it out of the park. 🧡

He says he has the most amazing females by his side. A wife who loves and cares for him more fiercely than anyone he’s ever known, and two daughters, just 11 and 12 years old, who are every bit as smart and strong.

They are going to get through this together and we will be there to help and support them all. 🎗️

Alongside the emotional weight of this diagnosis comes the financial burden of medical expenses and maintaining a household, trips back and forth to Cleveland etc. That’s where we are hoping family, friends, and our community can step in.

Our goal is to take some of that financial pressure off their shoulders so they can focus on what matters most, his treatment, his recovery, and being together as a family. 🧡

Funds raised will help with medical expenses, prescriptions, travel to and from treatment, household bills, groceries, and the many unexpected costs that come with a long cancer journey as this will be an ongoing battle for 2-3 years.
