About this fundraiser

I’m asking for help getting a reliable vehicle for myself and my children. The repairs on my truck were estimated at $5,000, and Carmart wanted me to pay the full repair cost while continuing to make the $600 monthly payments on the truck. Since I would have been left without a vehicle during the repairs and could not afford those costs, they took the truck back. We are now hoping to buy an inexpensive car or finance a reliable used sedan with a down payment.

I am currently walking to work because I have no other option. I work every hour my job will give me, but I barely make ends meet and do not receive child support or government assistance.

I also live with MS, Lupus, and Diabetes, which makes transportation especially important. I need to be able to get to my medical appointments, pick up medications, and get back and forth to work. I’m doing everything I can to keep working and provide for my family, but I worry about how I will manage if I have another major flare-up and physically cannot continue walking.

My son is also affected. He has had to ask others for rides to work or pay for Uber, which quickly becomes expensive. He also helps me with bills and buying food, and I hate seeing him have to carry that extra burden simply because we don't have reliable transportation.

I’m not asking for help because I don’t want to work—I’m working as much as I possibly can. I’m asking because I have reached a point where I simply need some help getting back on my feet. A reliable vehicle would mean so much to our family. It would allow me to continue working, make it to my doctors’ appointments, get my children where they need to go, and give us a little stability and independence.

If you are able to donate, even a small amount would help us tremendously. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as appreciated and could help us reach someone who can. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read our story and for helping my family during a very difficult time.
