About this fundraiser

What happens after your employer doesn't pay for almost 3 months (76 days)?  You struggle more than usual.  I'm just trying to keep a roof over my head and care for my dogs.  Before the 3 months the ice storm in January adds to why I'm here.  Picture it your boss says something to the effect, “Well others made it to work you could have too…”  keep that in mind.

Then recently my car acted up.  Timing belt and some electrical issues.  Part of that month rent went to keep my car running.  I did pay most of Rent that month.  The next month my car's engine died.  Issue with a gasket burst or something.  Was water and oil all in engine.  Mechanic quoted $5000 to fix it.  Uber became my car.  That takes more rent money.

Remember the “others made it to work…?”  Wel that was in January my employer administered punishment in the form of a 14 day suspension…did I mention that is a full 40 hrs of no pay?

So that combined with no car and 3 months of no pay…well you get the idea.

Now I know times are tough all over.  You yourself may be familiar with the endless struggle, crisis after crisis.  Believe me, I've learned.  I found a car.  More importantly the dealer approved me at my bad credit.  Can you relate?  You know high down high interest and did I mention high insurance?  There goes another month of rent.  Some wonder why can't you save? Access you 401k? Did I mention the 3 months of no pay?  Thank you 401k for keeping a roof over my head.  I'm one of those folks who live paycheck to paycheck.  I'm trying but it's not working.

This brings me to the ask…

My landlord won't issue the Notice to Vacate if I can get $1000 to him.  He will let me work on full past due rent.

If you can spare some please it would mean the world to me.  I'm 61, to old to be without a place to call home.

I sure do thank you for your time and generosity.  When my situation stabil8zes I intend to help the next person in need.
