After the heartbreaking loss of my mom, Lucy Reyes Miller, our family is coming together to support my dad, Duane, as he begins navigating life without the woman he shared nearly 40 years with.

Losing a spouse is an unimaginable emotional loss, and while many of the immediate arrangements are being taken care of, there are still additional out-of-pocket funeral expenses that our family is responsible for. Beyond that, my dad is now facing the difficult reality of moving forward without his wife and lifelong partner. At 77 years old and retired, he's living on a fixed income while adjusting to life without the person who shared nearly four decades by his side.

This fundraiser is meant to help ease some of those financial burdens during this incredibly difficult time. Any funds raised will go directly to my dad and may help with:

• Additional funeral and memorial expenses, including the family gathering following Mom's service.

• Providing some financial stability as he navigates this new chapter of life.

• Unexpected expenses that often arise after the loss of a loved one.

Anyone who knew my mom knew how deeply she loved her family. She spent her life caring for those around her, opening her home and heart to everyone she met. One of the greatest ways we can honor her memory is by helping care for the person she loved most.
