Hi, friends and family!
As many of you now know, I have been facing some very serious health concerns for the past year. I have been admitted to the hospital 10 times, had multiple surgeries and an implant, had countless appointments with almost every medical speciality, and had a general feeling of awfulness the whole time.
Because of all of that and more, I have been living off of disability payments and EBT for over a year. While these payments are helpful, they are quite small and barely cover my rent, much less any other expenses.
I have always been terrible at asking for help. Whether it’s at work, from my friends, or even from family, I have always been a “tough it out and handle it on my own” type of person.
I have been trying and trying with a little help here and there, but the fact of the matter is- I’m drowning financially.
I need a life raft.
It stopped being a matter of “trying to make ends meet” a while ago, and has become a vicious cycle of figuring out how to keep food in mine and Lupin’s mouths, a roof over our heads, my accounts from defaulting, etc. I have exhausted every avenue from government aid, to looking for remote work, to playing those silly apps that say they pay money.
I finally have to bite the bullet and accept that I can’t do this alone. I have to ask for help.
So here I am, with my tail between my legs, asking for any little bit that you can spare to help me get my head back above water. (They say there’s no shame in asking for help, but tell that to the huge knot in my stomach as I type this.)
With any luck, but mostly with science, I’ll be receiving my new liver sooner than later, and I can get back to living.
I love you all! Thanks for all that you do in my life!
I can’t offer much in return, but I can offer this advice: if you’re on the fence about whether or not you should have ”just one more drink,” don’t get it. It’s not worth it.
