Hello everyone, 

I am reaching out for help because my 6 year old cat and I are facing eviction and homelessness. For years I have been suffering with sciatica with no doctor providing any resolution. On July 1, 2026 my health took an even greater turn and I haven’t been able to move or work leaving us in our current situation. I have reached out to family and some friends for help, but unfortunately they’re either unable to help or flat out refused. A few even told me that I should go to a shelter once we are evicted, but after much research I found there were no shelters to take us BOTH in. I know people might recommend fostering or placing my kitty in a shelter until I get medical treatment and a new job, but the issue is I got him when he was 4 weeks old, at the recommendation of my therapist. He saved me from an abusive relationship and taking my own life on multiple occasions so he is my little savior. That being said, he never had human or animal contact outside of my abusive ex and myself. Whenever he has come into contact with anyone it has been a disaster to say the least and I am afraid of him being euthanized if placed in a shelter. He is absolutely the sweetest kitty and I have appointments scheduled to get medical treatment, but here in Arkansas there are little to no rental assistance programs and Landlords can put you off their property whenever they feel like it. Thankfully, I have been on time during previous months but they have given me until July 29, 2026 to get the funds or I will be charged an extra $500+ in fees and forced to court as well as being evicted and thrown on the streets. We ask that if anyone can find it in their hearts to help us, God bless you. Our only option to stay together would be to live in my little Kia Spectra which has no air conditioning, and with the consistent heatwave I don’t believe either of us would survive more than a day out there.
