Hey everyone, wanted to share an update on baby Everly:

Lately she has had more trouble getting enough air to breathe and had a panic attack again today. The nurses and doctor sedated her and Everly got a ventilator in her mouth to breathe for her. She will to get a CT scan to check her lungs and heart next week. She still isn't big enough for her main heart surgery because she is burning to many calories since she is so exhausted breathing so heavy.

So as a temporary fix, she will be getting a Pulmonary artery (PA) banding which is a temporary surgical procedure where a band is placed around the pulmonary artery in her heart to restrict blood flow to the lungs. It prevents heart failure and protects the lungs from being overloaded with blood in babies with certain congenital heart defects.

Please continue to keep her and us in your prayers. I am thankful the ventilator is helping her to breathe but its so hard mentally and emotionally seeing my sweet little baby this way and that she has to go through this right now until she is big enough to get her main heart surgery later this year.
