In 2011, our dear friend (like family to us) Gordon Decker was diagnosed with stage 4 advanced prostate cancer and given just 6 to 18 months to live. But Gordon is a fighter! Fifteen years later, he's still here, defying the odds every single day!!
Unfortunately, in 2017, the cancer metastasized to his bones, and more recently, to his neck, back, and lungs. Despite these daunting challenges, Gordon's bloodwork (and fighting spirit!) remains strong!
Unfortunately, the Pluvicto treatments and chemotherapy infusions have not stopped Gordon’s cancer from spreading. A recent PSMA PET scan and two bronchoscopies; including 20 biopsies of his right lung in July 2026, show his metastatic prostate cancer has spread to lymph nodes in his neck and to his right lung. The tumor in his lung is causing breathing problems. Doctors are proposing a procedure to remove the fluid which should relieve Gordon’s discomfort. There is no more chemo proposed. Radiation is an option but has been placed on hold. Gordon’s best hope for treatment is a new immunotherapy clinical trial at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. We are praying the clinical trial opens soon!
Gordon's Subaru Baja is approaching 380,000 miles and remains his daily driver to all of the medical appointments despite mounting repair bills on top of his healthcare costs.
Gordon has shown unimaginable strength over the past 15 years. Now he needs our strength and support in return. Your donation will help cover life-extending treatments, critical transportation, and basic living expenses during this most difficult chapter.
Thank you for standing with Gordon. Every contribution, large or small, makes a life-saving difference!
