Hello, my name is Ebony. I am a 38-year-old woman born with HIV. Because I struggled with this virus and chronic mental illness, staying on treatment has been an extreme struggle for me. Because of this, I've gotten very sick and had to miss out on so many unpaid days of work. This resulted in me falling behind on my bills and getting caught in a cycle of borrowing. I am currently getting the treatment and doing art therapy, trying to get myself back on a good path. I’ve made a little money selling my artwork. I’ve tried to take out a loan because of my bad credit, but I’ve been turned down. Friends have helped out, but they can only do so much. I also posted a GoFundMe and raised $650, which helped.
