My name is Andrea, and I’m a daily vlogger on the YouTube channel FoolyLiving. Right now, I am on hiatus due to a deeply traumatic time in my life. Within just a few months, I lost both of my parents in very painful and heartbreaking ways. Since then, I have struggled with severe depression, and it has taken a tremendous toll on me and my family.

Over the past two years, I’ve been trying to find my way back—not just emotionally, but physically as well. I want to be present, active, and able to fully live life with my children while they are still young. But I am facing a daily battle with chronic pain caused by lipedema, a progressive and genetic condition often referred to as “painful fat syndrome.” I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which further compounds the pain and mobility challenges I experience every single day.

Lipedema is widely misunderstood. Many people hear the word “liposuction” and assume it is cosmetic, but in my case, it is the only effective medical treatment available. This disease causes abnormal fat to form painful, hardened nodules—like fibrous marbles under the skin—that cannot be reduced through diet or exercise. I have tried everything, including extended fasting, but nothing can remove this diseased tissue.

The pain has become unbearable, especially in my legs. My calves have grown so large and painful that even walking—something most people take for granted—is extremely difficult. Walking is essential for me to regain a normal, active life, and right now, that feels out of reach.

To properly treat my condition, I need a series of four surgeries, each targeting different areas of my body. I am hoping to begin with the back of my legs, as this would give me the greatest immediate improvement in mobility and pain relief.

This is incredibly hard for me to ask, but I can no longer do this alone. I am reaching out for help—any support that would bring me closer to receiving this life-changing treatment. This isn’t just about me; it’s about being able to show up for my children, to reclaim my health, and to finally live without constant pain.
