For years, my life’s work and passion have been caring for others as a physician. Today, I find myself in the deeply humbling position of needing to ask for that same care and support for myself.

Since December, I have been dealing with a severe, debilitating illness that has completely upended my life. Because of my health, I have been unable to work for the past six months. As you can imagine, stepping away from my practice has been heartbreaking, but my physical limitations have left me with no choice but to focus entirely on trying to heal.

While my income has stopped, the medical reality has not. The costs of treatments, specialized care, and daily living expenses have been accumulating rapidly. Despite navigating the healthcare system from the inside, the financial burden of a long-term medical crisis is overwhelming.
