Hey everyone,

Our family was hit pretty hard this past week when Noodle started losing weight. By Friday afternoon he wasn’t keeping anything down and almost half his usual weight. Our first visit to St. Francis on Friday was $1467 with x-rays, bloodwork, meds, and fluids and the ultrasound he got Saturday was $1450. What at first looked like an obstruction turned out to be gastroenteritis. The abnormality on ultrasound was an inflamed pancreas which will heal with rest.

Noodle found us on a cold night in February 2025. I thought the sound I heard was a video on my roommate’s phone. The neighbor heard it too because he came out and asked if the cat by the fence was ours. “He is now,” and we got Noodle vet care while keeping him quarantined from the other cats. Noodle has become a beloved member of our family ever since and was going to have his first trial run as a therapy assistance cat on Tuesday.

Noodle’s prognosis is good. We’re working him up slowly on food since he can only eat small frequent meals. Thankfully Noodle’s appetite has returned so that part is going very well. We’re reaching out because this emergency cratered mine and my roommate’s budget.

However much or little you can afford to donate, we all appreciate.
