Hello.

I'm Mark, 71 years old, living in Statesville, NC.

In 1996, while working as a Rad Tech at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, I was seriously injured saving an obese sedated patient from falling head-first onto a concrete floor. I caught her and kept her safe, but it destroyed both of my shoulders.

I had reconstructive surgery on each shoulder. Both surgeries failed. I now have permanent nerve damage, limited use of both arms, and severe, chronic pain for the past 30 years. The hospital system fired me because it was costing them too much money.

I cannot work and live on my $1880 Social Security. It is no longer enough to cover my mortgage, taxes, utilities and maintenance. I am at risk of losing my home.

I am not comfortable asking for help, but I have run out of things to sell on eBay and I'm afraid I won't make it without support.

The county where I live has a poor tax base, so services are limited. Some so strained they are out of money. I get $24 a month from SNAP/food stamps.

Any amount helps. even $10 or $20 towards food and utilities would give me breathing room.

I just don't want to lose my home.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. May God Bless you and yours…
