We are currently facing an urgent financial crisis due to identity theft and fraud that has left us without access to our funds despite reporting the situation and actively working toward resolution. As a result, we are at immediate risk of homelessness, with a deadline of Thursday, May 8th, if we are unable to secure short-term assistance. This situation has been further complicated by my mother’s recent hospitalization for chest pain, especially concerning given her history of a stress-related heart attack, making it critical to maintain stability during this time. We do not have access to a vehicle, which has made managing daily needs even more challenging. We have reached out to multiple local resources, including “Your Way Home,” churches, Manna on Main Street, and other assistance programs, only to be told that funding is currently unavailable. While we have taken steps to recover—including opening a new secure account, filing taxes with a refund expected shortly, and awaiting a college reimbursement next week—we are currently in a temporary gap and urgently need help covering essential expenses such as rent, food, and necessary veterinary care for one of our dogs. We have always been the type of people who help others whenever we can—whether that meant providing food, offering a place to stay, giving rides, or helping financially—and it is incredibly difficult to find ourselves in a position where we need to ask for help. We are not seeking long-term support, only immediate assistance to help us remain stable during this critical period as we work toward regaining financial footing. Any support or sharing of our situation would be deeply appreciated during this difficult time.
