Hey everyone! As most of you know, my dad, Travis Lambrecht, has peritoneal mesothelioma. Recently my parents were told that the tumor on his liver has doubled in size since it was first found on CT 3 months ago. Due to this increase in size the oncologist gave the option to discontinue his immunotherapy treatment and give his body a break so he can try and see if he can feel “normal” again before deciding if he wants another treatment. Sadly the other treatment options he was given don't have great outlooks either. After having Chicago and Mayo both say there aren't many options for treatment, they decided to submit his medical records to MD Anderson, a leading cancer research organization in Houston, TX for another opinion. To our surprise, they have accepted him for a consultation. This is where this fundraiser comes into play. The flights and 5 day hotel stay for all of their testing are going to cost a minimum of $2000, not including food, rental car, time off of work and someone to watch their pets, or potential medical bills to come. My parents would never ask anyone for help, even though they're the first ones to give the shirts of their backs to anyone who needs anything. Well, that doesn't mean I can't reach out to our amazing support system to try and help ease the financial burden so they can take this opportunity, without added stress, to find out if there is ANY other treatment options for him.
