A year ago, my sister Dorothy received news that changed everything. She was diagnosed with colon and lung cancer, and from that moment on, her life became a fight for survival. But Dorothy has never been someone to back down from a challenge. She faced that diagnosis head-on, endured treatment after treatment, and showed a strength and courage that inspired everyone around her.
We watched her battle through the difficult days of chemotherapy, the exhaustion, the uncertainty, and the fear that comes with a cancer diagnosis. But Dorothy kept going. She kept fighting. She leaned on her family, held onto hope, and refused to give up. For over a year, she fought as hard as anyone could possibly fight.
We thought we might be getting closer to the other side of this. We allowed ourselves to hope that maybe, just maybe, the treatments were working and that Dorothy would get her life back.
But recently, we received devastating news. The cancer has returned to her lungs and has spread to other locations in her body. Our hearts broke all over again, but Dorothy's determination hasn't wavered. She is ready to fight again, to try new treatments, and to keep going for herself and for her family.
What we need help with right now is practical and urgent. Dorothy is facing significant medical bills from her ongoing treatment and care. Beyond the medical expenses, her family needs support to keep things stable at home while she focuses on her health and recovery. Bills don't stop coming just because someone is battling cancer, and families still need to eat, pay rent, and cover the basics of living.
I'm reaching out because I believe in the power of community and compassion. Dorothy has always been there for others, and now she needs us to be there for her. If you're able to contribute to help Dorothy with her medical bills and support her family during this incredibly difficult time, it would mean the world to us.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. It shows Dorothy that she's not alone in this fight, and it helps lift some of the financial burden so she can focus on what matters most right now: her health and being present with the people she loves.
Thank you for considering helping my sister. Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support during this journey that feels like it just won't end. Dorothy is a fighter, and with your help, we can give her one less thing to worry about.
