Christian is our 23-year-old son, and we are asking for help after he was violently attacked while trying to protect his girlfriend during a fight at a downtown Sacramento establishment. 

That night, things became crowded and tense, and as Christian came out of the restroom, he saw pushing and shoving near his girlfriend and the people she was with. He rushed over to help keep her safe. In the middle of that chaos, Christian was punched in the mouth, lost consciousness for about a minute, and was attacked by four men. During the assault, one of them bit off part of the top of his left ear. He also injured one of his front teeth. 

Christian was taken to UC Davis Sacramento for immediate care and tests. Since then, he has been cleaning the wound daily and taking antibiotics while we try to figure out the next steps. What makes this even harder is that his insurance does not start until December, so the medical and dental costs are falling on him and our family right now. 

The funds raised will help cover immediate medical bills, ear stabilization and reconstruction with a plastic surgeon, dental treatment for his injured front tooth, and related recovery expenses. We have very limited money for rent, gas, and food, so these unexpected costs have put us in a difficult position. 

Christian is a hard-working young man, and it is heartbreaking to see him dealing with this after simply trying to protect someone he cares about.
