Asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but today I’m putting my pride aside for someone who means the world to me—my mama.

Years ago, my mom was involved in a motorcycle accident, and her teeth have never been the same since. Despite the pain, embarrassment, and struggles she’s faced, she has always continued putting her children and grandchildren first. She has spent her entire life helping others, sacrificing her own needs to make sure everyone else was taken care of.

My dream is to raise $9,000 to help both of us get the dental work we desperately need. But if we only reach enough to help one of us, I want every penny to go to my mom. If we can raise even $4,000 to start fixing her smile, I would consider this fundraiser a success.

As for me, after having multiple pregnancies, my teeth have deteriorated significantly. I’ve been judged and called things that simply aren’t true because of the condition of my teeth. Neither my mother nor I drink or use drugs, yet people often assume the worst. It hurts, and all I want is to be able to smile without feeling ashamed.

Living on disability in Texas makes dental care nearly impossible to afford. There is little to no dental coverage available, and even basic cleanings can be difficult to access, let alone major dental work.

More than anything, I want my mama to have her smile back. I want her to feel confident, happy, and beautiful again. She deserves that after everything she’s done for everyone around her.
