Over the past two months, my life has changed dramatically due to a series of unexpected injuries and ongoing medical complications.

In early June, my left knee suddenly gave out. Shortly afterward, my right knee also gave out and required 100 cc of fluid to be drained. As many of you know, I have a small dog who depends on me. After several days of not being able to take him outside, I attempted to do so using crutches. Tragically, one of my crutches caught on the porch, causing me to fall.

That single accident resulted in two sprained wrists, a pulled shoulder muscle, sprains to both ankles, and a fracture in my right foot.

Since then, I have made five trips to the emergency room within about a month, along with numerous doctor’s appointments and orthopedic visits. While I am slowly healing, I am now facing another serious challenge. Both of my feet have developed severe edema (swelling), and despite being on several medications, the swelling continues. My doctors are still trying to determine the underlying cause.

This unexpected medical crisis has taken a tremendous physical, emotional, and financial toll. I have exhausted my savings while trying to keep up with medical expenses and everyday living costs during my recovery.
