I am trying to raise money for my mother who is 72 and has progressive dementia. She was living with her BF of 25+ years until we found he took almost all of her retirement savings and then sent her to the ER and told them she was not safe to come home. Yes, my sister and I did everything we could to get money back from him but unfortunately, its a lost cause and apparently he didn't do anything illegal in our justice systems eyes since he had he placed on her account. She has nothing, no assets. Now, she currently lives with me, my husband and my 4 year old daughter. She only has Medicare and we in the process of reapplying for Medicaid. Her Dementia has been progressing to the point where its becoming too difficult for us to manage her care at home. We are trying to place her in a memory care program but are short in paying private pay amount needed to secure her a bed until Medicaid takes over. I am begging and pleading any help will be appreciated immensely to give our Mother a safe place to live.
