I am asking for help raising $1,100 to cover my copay for Kesimpta, the medication I need to treat my Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
The total cost of this medication is approximately $49,000, and thankfully, my insurance is expected to approve and cover the majority of that cost. However, I am still responsible for a $1,100 copay, which is more than we can afford right now.
The funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward that copay so I can receive my Kesimpta treatment.
Kesimpta gives me hope of slowing the progression of my MS and protecting as much of my independence and quality of life as possible. With a progressive disease like MS, the abilities many people take for granted can become increasingly difficult. This treatment cannot undo what MS has already taken from me, but it gives me hope of protecting what I still have—and that means everything to me.
I need these funds as soon as possible because I don’t want finances to delay access to a medication that is important to managing my MS. When you’re living with a progressive disease, having to worry about whether you can afford the treatment your doctor has prescribed is an additional burden that is difficult to describe.
Reaching this $1,100 goal would mean so much more to me than simply paying a bill. It would mean having access to the treatment I need and being able to focus on taking care of my health rather than worrying about how we are going to come up with the money.
Asking others for financial help isn’t easy for me. But right now, I need to put my health first and ask for a helping hand.
If you are able to donate—even $5, $10, or $20—it will bring me closer to my goal. If you aren’t able to donate, simply sharing my fundraiser could help it reach someone who can.
I will be incredibly grateful for every donation, every share, every prayer, and every person who takes a moment to read my story.
My goal is $1,100. Every little bit gets me one step closer to receiving the MS medication I need.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me continue fighting MS.
