  • Trying my hardest, and digging deep 👊🏻

Well, I knew Spinal Fusion was possibly in my future, but did not want to believe it. This will be a very hard journey, but I am at the ready for my family's sake. 🫡 I just woke up a couple of hours ago from anesthesia. They literally had to knock my hard case ass out to get me in the MRI, mainly because my knee will not go down. If you're gonna do it, do it good! And, that I did.

I say my work ethic is stronger than my back. 😂 Here's my test results. I passed the first 3 levels at least. ✅⛑️

On a more serious note, Fast T is different, at least as people have come to know me anyways. I will be different now, I am now permanently weakened and will now be known as Slow T. 😅 I have given it my all, quite literally. I can not feel my leg, but the pain in my hip is still very tremendous. I have a helper for my business, and soon he will be well seasoned, as I am, but takes precious time. I have aquired a second service vehicle, an older cargo van, and managed to get it ready to go and insured, but it ends there. I could use a little help but if the Lord be for me, what dare be against me.

I keep building in hopes I will fill these seats that I filled all by myself. I serviced over 3700 customers last year alone, and it is all catching up to me now. I should have acquired help sooner, but the economy was trash and could not do it until now.

Fast T's will live on, and so will I for my families sake which includes all of you. 🫵
It is ALWAYS too early to quit! It is just time to begin yet another new chapter of my life and Fast T's Mobile Automotive. Thank you all for your support, and for loving the T man. If you are reading this, you are the only family I have, I ❤️ you ALL! 👊🏻

    Have an awesome weekend!

    Sincerely,
    -Slow T 😉

About this fundraiser

Help Terry Martindale and his family navigate his fourth and most serious emergency neurological spinal surgery and fusion of his lower back! Terry Martindale owns and operates Fast T's Mobile Auto Repair (accredited by the BBB with an A+ rating), which serves Waukee, West Des Moines, Urbandale, and surrounding areas of Iowa. He is a family man living with his wife and young daughter in Waukee, IA, and is the sole breadwinner of his family. In the past 17 years, Terry first injured himself on the job in 2007, has since required three surgeries by 2009, and has now re-aggravated his pre-existing injury as of December 2024; he now needs help covering his fourth spinal surgery to keep working in his mobile auto repair shop. Terry started Fast T's in 2016 to go from verging on homelessness to bringing in a steady source of income for his family, and in the last decade succeeded in not only creating a flourishing business but becoming a greatly relied upon mechanic for his customers' auto repair needs.

However, in December of 2024, Terry unfortunately re-aggravated his prior injury from 2007 on the job which has left him in severe and crippling pain in his back and neck to the point where he cannot stand more than 5 minutes at a time, requires complex and much-needed surgery as well as time to heal, and if not dealt with soon could soon make him unable to walk let alone continue work as a traveling auto mechanic. This has left him and his family in dire financial straits and threatens his ability to keep up with the demands of his business. Terry has also applied for different forms of government assistance but has been turned down due to income guidelines. The surgery itself is scheduled for two months out, and he has been advised by his doctors not to move around too much or do any hard labor. It will also likely be a year of rehab to get back to normal. He is currently in the process of hiring other mechanics to handle the current workload of his business. In addition, he and his family are facing foreclosure by the end of January 2025 due to being behind on the mortgage for their home. All of this being said, he admits he's not usually one to ask for help and is otherwise always making every effort to be 100% self-sufficient, but this situation has caused him and his family to reach out for help wherever it may be found.

That is where we could use your help to reach our goal of $35k to cover the surgery and monthly expenses while he is out of work recovering. Any amount given is greatly appreciated by Terry and his family. Please help Terry Martindale and his family get through this financial hardship by donating today!
