In early October, Sara entered the Penn Medical Center with COVID. Because of Sara's underlying and chronic health issues caused by Charcot-Marie Tooth, she experienced multiple respiratory and other issues and spent a long duration in the critical care unit. Joe was by her side as much as possible. After more than two weeks in the hospital, Sara has finally come home but her recovery has just begun. She needs intensive physical and occupational therapy to restore her strength but acute rehab was denied by her insurance company. Because her strength is lower right now, she also needs help performing basic functions and cannot drive.
