À propos de cette collecte de fonds

My name is Amy, and today I’m asking for help for two people who mean so much to many of us — Sandy and Mayelin Ramey.

Sandy and Mayelin have been together 21 years and married for 16 years. They are loving, hardworking people who have always faced life together with strength, faith, and love. Mayelin has been carrying the full responsibility of caring for her 88-year-old mother, who has been battling dementia for the past five years. Through every difficult day and sleepless night, Mayelin has lovingly remained her mother’s sole caregiver, putting everyone else before herself. In January 2024, the stress and emotional weight became overwhelming, and Mayelin suffered a heart attack. Thankfully, she made a full recovery, but even after facing her own health crisis, she continued to push forward with strength, faith, and love to care for her mother and support her family through every challenge. But over the last several months, they have endured more pain and heartbreak than any family should ever have to face.

In September of 2025, Sandy was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Since then, he has been fighting the battle of his life through aggressive chemotherapy treatments that continued until April of this year. The treatments took an enormous toll on his body. Shortly after his final treatment, Sandy became bedridden and extremely weak.

He was hospitalized after doctors had to remove over 11 liters of fluid from his stomach. During that time, his blood pressure dropped dangerously low, and although he was released home, things quickly became worse. He struggled to eat, drink, and regain strength, leading to another hospitalization because of dehydration and severe lack of nutrients.

While Sandy was hospitalized on May 22, 2026, another tragedy struck their family. There was an accidental shooting and death inside their home. In the middle of already fighting cancer, fear, exhaustion, and mounting medical bills, this family was suddenly faced with another devastating loss and unexpected financial burden.

Their homeowners insurance has a very high deductible, and while a crime scene cleanup crew was provided, many expenses still remain. After months of cancer treatments, hospital stays, medical costs, and now the aftermath of this tragedy, the family is struggling to keep up financially.

We are trying to raise $5,000 to help cover basic but urgent needs — medical supplies, utilities, food, their house payment, and the insurance deductible.

No family should have to carry this much pain alone.

If you are able to give, no matter how small the amount may seem, it would mean the world to Sandy, Mayelin, and everyone who loves them. And if you cannot donate, please share their story, keep them in your prayers, and help us surround them with love and support during the darkest time of their lives.

By the grace of God and the endless love of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray that this family finds strength, comfort, and peace during these heartbreaking trials. Through every challenge they have faced, they have continued to hold onto faith, love, and one another. We ask for prayers, support, and kindness for Sandy and Mayelin as they continue this difficult journey, and we pray they receive the help, compassion, and relief they so deeply deserve.

Thank you all so much for listening, for caring, and for helping this family find hope and healing one step at a time.
