On July 10, 2025, Tanner sustained severe injuries due to a workplace incident. While performing maintenance on a vehicle, a coworker without getting in the vehicle (just sticking his arm in) started the ignition without verifying the vehicle's status. Because the manual transmission was engaged in gear, the vehicle shifted unexpectedly, rolled off the lift and over Tanner, trapping him beneath. The impact resulted in an L3 compression fracture, an unstable L4 burst fracture, and Cauda Equina Syndrome. He underwent emergency surgery to insert rods and screws into his spine. By the grace of God, Tanner escaped total paralysis a miracle his doctors didn't think was possible.

The Fight After the Accident
Unfortunately, his battle was just beginning. Since that day, Tanner’s recovery has been an uphill climb marked by terrifying medical setbacks. Shortly after his first discharge, he was rushed back to the hospital with a severe infection suspected to be meningitis. After fighting through that nightmare, he was admitted a third time this time with a leg full of blood clots, additional clots in both of his lungs, and a painful traumatic seroma in his thigh.

A Completely Altered Reality
The painful reality is that life will never be the same. Tanner can no longer lift, move, or bend like he used to. He has had to give up the active hobbies he loved sharing with his little brothers, like dirt biking, riding BMX, and working on cars. Simple pleasures like riding a jet ski or going on a roller coaster are permanently out of reach. Facing these lifelong physical limitations has been an incredibly heavy mental burden to bear.

To make matters worse, Tanner is facing this new reality with no job and no income for a year now. His family and incredible friends have stepped up to support him financially and emotionally. Some have given far more than they could afford, and we are eternally grateful for them. But the road ahead is long.
We created this fund to ease Tanner’s financial stress so he can focus entirely on surviving and healing. While he deserves justice, right now, he just needs to get through each day.
